Day 01: Arrive Delhi - Varanasi, by overnight train

On arrival at Delhi International airport meet with our representative & transfer to the hotel near Delhi railway station. After fresh-n-up transfer to the railway station to board the train for Varanasi. Overnight stay on board.

Day 02: Arrive VaranasiBuddhist Tour

On arrival at Varanasi railway station meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. After fresh-n-up temple tour of Varanasi visiting Durga Temple, Tulsimanas, Birla Mandir, Shri Kashi Vishnsanath, Visalakshmi and Annapumeshwar etc. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03: Varanasi - Sarnath - Varanasi

Morning boat cruise at the river Ganges to observe the way of life of pilgrims by the Ghats. Later an excursion to Sarnath. It enjoys the extraordinary privilege of Lord Buddha delivering his first sermon after attaining enlightenment 2500 years ago. It is about 10 km from Varanasi and holds a number of Buddhist sites that include the famous Dhamekh Stupa, the seat of the holy 'Buddha'. You can also visit the ruins of Dharmajajika Stupa and Mulgandhakuti Temple, where Lord Buddha is said to have rested and meditated while in Sarnath. The Ashoka Pillar built by the emperor Ashoka is a must see in Sarnath. The Lion Capital on top of this pillar is now the National Emblem of India and stands apart for its excellent artistry and carvings. Later back to Varanasi on arrival visit Aarti Darshan. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04: Varanasi - Gaya - Bodhgaya

Morning after breakfast drive to Bodhgaya, en-route visit Gaya. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.Buddhist Tour

Bodhgaya, one of the most important and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage center in the world. It was here under a banyan tree, the Bodhi Tree, Gautama attained supreme knowledge to become Lord Buddha.

Day 05: Bodhgaya

Morning after full day sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya. The Mahabodhi Temple built on the east of the sacred tree stands majestically 17 feet high on a base 5 feet square, and consists of a soaring pyramidal tower surmounted by a stupa. The Vajrasan or Diamond Throne lying between the Bodhi Tree and the temple marks the actual spot where Buddha sat in meditation and attained supreme knowledge. A gilded Buddha smiles upon the visitors from a niche in the wall of the temple, and his footsteps carved in stone hold flower offerings from the devout. Unbelievable peace pervades the atmosphere giving credence to legend Besides the Mahabodhi temple, we would visit several Buddhist temples built by the followers of Buddhism from all over the world. Day 06: Bodhgaya - Rajgir, 74 km - NalandaBuddhist Tour

Morning after breakfast drive to Patna, en-route visit Rajgir & Nalanda. Rajgir is a lush green valley surrounded by rocky hills. Here on Griddhakuta or Vultures Peak the Buddha set in motion his second Wheel of Law and for three months every year during the rainy season preached many inspiring sermons to his disciples. The Buddha Sangha of Japan has constructed a massive modern stupa, the Shanti (peace) stupa at the top of the hill in commemoration.

12 km from Rajgir is ruins of Nalanda University: - Founded in the 5th Century A.D., Nalanda is known as the ancient seat of learning. 2000 teachers and 10000 students from all over the Buddhist world lived and studied at Nalanda, the first Residential International University of the World. A walk in the ruins of the university takes you to an era, that saw India leading in imparting knowledge, to the world - the era when India was a coveted place for studies. The University flourished during the 5th and 12th century.

Later drive to Patna, on arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07: Patna - Vaishali - KushinagarBuddhist Tour

Early morning drive to Kushinagar. En-route visit Vaishali. Vaishali was one of the key Buddhist destinations in ancient India. Here, Buddha preached his last sermon and proclaimed of his Parinirvana. It was the venue of the 2nd Buddhist Council, which was held almost after 100 years of Buddha's parinirvana (passing away). You will see the Ashokan Pillar and Shanti Stupa. Further continue drive to Kushinagar. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Located at 55 km from Gorakhpur, Kushinagar is the place where the Lord Buddha uttered his last words "Behold now, brethren, I exhort you, saying, decay is inherent in all component things! Work out your salvation with diligence!" and left for the heaven. A temple dedicated to the event - the Mahaparinirvana temple, stands testimony to the mournful demise. Among the various Stupas of Kushinagar, Rambhar Stupa needs your exploration for it is the place where Lord Buddha was supposedly cremated.

Day 08: Kushinagar - Lumbini

Morning visit the Sal Tree and Ramabhar stupa where Buddha was cremated. Later drive to Lumbini. On arrival check in at the hotel. Lumbini is the place where Lord Buddha was born. Emperor Ashoka, in the twenty-first years after his coronation visited the birth place and raised a pillar on the spot. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 09: Lumbini - Kapilvastu - SravastiBuddhist Tour

After breakfast drive to Saravasti via Kapilvastu. Kapilvastu or Piprahwa has an important place in the life of Buddha. It was in Kapilvastu where Buddha decide to leave worldly pleasured and decided to look at life in a new perspective. There is a host of evidence o prove today that Piprahwa is the Kapilvastu of Buddha's times. The geographical conditions of Kapilvastu as described in Buddhist epics age similar to those in Piprahwa. The 'Asthi-patra' found in 1897 A.D., clearly matches the engravings in Piprahwa. Continue drive to Sravasti. Visit Sravasti garden, which is an important pilgrimage for Buddhists. Lord Buddha is believed to have spent 25 rainy seasons here preaching his teachings. On arrival at Sravasti check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10: Sravasti - Lucknow, 170 km - Delhi, by train

Morning after breakfast visit Jetavana Monastery, dedicated to Lord Gautam Buddha, is the 2nd Buddhist monastery in India, the 1st one being the Veluvana in Rajagaha. Lord Gautam Buddha is assumed to have delivered majority of discourses and teachings at this monastery.

This ancient structure has various buildings, namely the Candanamala, Kaveri Mandalamala, Mulagandhakuti and Kosambakuti. Right outside this monastery stood a residential building that belonged to Lord Samiddhisumana and an old Rajayatana tree.

Later drive to Lucknow. On arrival transfer to the railway station to board the train for Delhi. Overnight stay on board.

Day 11: Arrive Delhi - Departure

On arrival at Delhi railway station meet with our representative & transfer to the hotel. After fresh -n-up full day city sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi. Later in the evening transfer to International airport tao board the flight for onward destination.
